Text appears always in SMALL CAPITALS

Hi there,

when I add text in Photoshop Elements it always shows up in small capitals. I can't find a way to use uppercase only when I push Shift... which is the normal way of writing text.

I tried the trouble shooting mentioned here already: https://helpx.adobe.com/de/photoshop-elements/kb/type-tool-stuck-caps-lock-error.html 

But this didn't work.
I hope someone can help me solve this issue.
