Question

Thumbnails are not being properly updated in Organizer 2027 after edits made with Camera Raw or after deleting photos in Photoshop Elements 2027, whereas this was not an issue in Organizer 2025.

Most of my photos are shot in RAW format.

I primarily edit them using Photoshop Elements and the Camera Raw plug-in.

Since installing the Organizer 2027 + Photoshop Elements 2027 suite, I have noticed that thumbnails are no longer updated correctly after edits are made.

This is very disruptive. When editing a large number of photos in batches, it is no longer possible to tell at a glance in Organizer which photos have already been edited and which have not.

The same issue occurs with photos that have been deleted from Photoshop Elements. The icon displayed in the upper-left corner of the thumbnail, which normally indicates that the link to the physical file has been broken, no longer appears in Organizer. The only way to see this information is to open each photo individually in full-screen view.

This issue represents a clear regression compared to Photoshop Elements 2025, where thumbnail and file status updates worked correctly

    1. Select a batch of raw files in Organizer and click the Editor button.
    2. When camera raw launches you can select all in the filmstrip to apply the same slider settings.
    3. Click Done.
    4. Return to Organizer and while your thumbnails still remain selected go to the Edit Menu and choose:
    5. Update thumbnail for selected items.

Many thanks for your reply. Indeed, if I manually force the thumbnail refresh in Organizer, everything returns to normal 👍
