Tools crashing after one use on Elements 14

Previously I had Elements 11 which worked fine but ever since I installed Elements 14 it has been suspect.

I reset preferences each time and tools work fine to start with then don't. I have reinstalled the programme to no avail. I wonder if its something to do with Windows 10, I just realised I am meant to have quick time so installed that too but it made no difference. I have 3113MB of available ram and let Elements use 2179.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
