I purchased an HP desktop that came with Elements 10 pre-installed.  I can't find any serial number or key code.  Can this program be transferred to a new PC?

Correct answer John Waller

Pre-installed software is normally OEM licensed and tied to the PC it came with. OEM software is not transferable.

No...my computer was purchased new and now, like me, is old!  I plan on getting a new computer soon and will purchase a new program as well but wanted keep the old one while I transition into all the new features.  Thanks for your response.

Give what little information you provided I would have to say right now it would be nearly impossible for you to transfer over to another computer.  BEFORE YOU:  LOGOUT / DEACTIVATE IT.

That's a good question.   does it show up in your Adobe account with a serial number?    I originalloy got PSE 10 I think, when  it was bundled with a flat bed scanner- but it came on a dvd with a little card with a redemption code.

Since it came preinstalled, there are probably some issues with liscensing-   If it was installed on the computer when it was first made (or when you bought it, I'm guessing used) it's been over 10 years-   If it is a brand new computer- the sellers did you a disservice by installing such an old program.

I guessing it was a used computer- since PSE is very old.

Honestly: you would be better off by forgetting about it and try out pse 2024 for 30 days free.

Please try the trial version for two or three weeks before you make any decisions about making a purchase- if you buy it at full price you are looking at $99- which can be a bit spendy for some users.
