Question

Transferring my license from my old laptop to my new laptop

So that my license doesn't disappear, can you please tell me the procedure for discontinuing my Photoshop Elements 2022 on my old laptop and adding it to my new laptop? What are the differences between signing out, uninstalling, and deactivation?

On very old versions you had an option to deactivate, with newer versions you just need to sign out of the editor (Which deactivates it on the computer).  You are allowed to install it on two computers however, you can only use one computer at a time.  I have 10 versions installed right now- I use them to help people answer questions.   You can unistall if you want to- but really no reason to do that.

Thanks for your input.  I signed out on my older laptop but didn't uninstall it.  I then contacted the Adobe Support team.  One of their folks, tried to download my Premiere Elements 2022 on my new Windows 11 laptop for me and couldn't do it, saying that sometimes it doesn't work on earlier versions of the software.  It doesn't seem to me that 2022 would be so old that it wouldn't work.

Are you sure you contacted Adobe?  Did they try to sell you a new version?

They don't support Pre El 2022, but I think it should still run on Windows 11 if you meet the specs for it.

You need to sign out on the old computer.  That is the same as deactivating.

Make sure that the computer is connected to the internet when deactivating,

Uninstalling doesn't deactivate.

If you deactivate, you don't need to uninstall, but you can if you don't intend to use it.
