Question

Trouble importing CameraRaw profiles (.dcp) into Photoshop Elements

Hello,

I have a range of CameraRaw profiles (screenshot attached) that I'm looking to add as presets within the CameraRaw editor in Photoshop Elements.

In CameraRaw 16.0, I have gone to Profiles > Import Profiles & Presets and select the files but when I try to import them it doesn't work. The files are all .dcp format. I have also tried importing the entire .zip file. I have also tried changing the name to .xml instead of .dcp and nothing is working. I get an error saying the files are already imported but then they are not showing in the editor anywhere.

Any help hugely appreciated! Thank you.

Lets try an experiment by dragging one of the profiles out of the Imported folder to the CameraProfiles folder to just under where it says Index 2.dat, then see if it shows on the Profiles list in Camera Raw.

Hi Jeff. I have dragged one of the dcp files to the CameraProfiles folder, and then quit and restarted Adobe Photoshop Elements. It still does not appear to show in the CameraRaw pop-out within PE.

There is still nothing new showing here (attached) either.

Paste the following into the Go to Folder dialog:

~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CamerRaw

Ah, I see. Thank you! When I access that folder I can see that the files have been added in this location (see attached).

You need to click on your desktop to see the Go menu

A shortcut to get the desktop would be either F11 or Cmd + F11 depending on how your functions keys are set.

When I input the following into the Go to Folder pop-out it doesn't do anything when I hit enter - just makes a noise but doesn't open anything.

This is what I was trying to access:

User>Library>Application Support>Adobe>CameraRaw

An easy way to access the User>Library>Application Support>Adobe>CameraRaw is to click on your desktop, click Go and Go to Folder and paste the following the click Enter/Return.

~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CamerRaw

then look in the CameraProfiles folder where the dcp files should go when you use Import Profiles.

Thanks. I have just looked but there is no "Go" option on my Macbook.

Do you see any of your profiles dcp files in

Macintosh HD/Users/UserName/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/CameraProfiles

How do I access this location?

One thing I have noticed is within the Adobe folder there is no Camera Raw folder (see screenshots attached).

This is the version I downloaded (CameraRaw 16.0): https://helpx.adobe.com/uk/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-in-installer.html

I have tried closing down and reopening PE and it still doesn't show the presets.

Something else to check is after you click on Browse Profiles, right click somewhere in the panel and in the menu that pops-up click Manage Profiles and see if any are unchecked.

Hi Jeff, and thanks for your response. I have tried checking the Manage Profiles section and nothing new is there (please see picture attached).

Have you looked in Camera Raw when you click Browse Profiles?

This is what comes up in the Profiles section - none of which are my new CameraRaw profiles, just the ones that come preloaded into Photoshop Elements, unfortunately. I'm not sure why they're not showing when it says they've been imported?
