trouble installing PSE 2023 on macbook 2020

I cannot get PSE 23 to install!! I get a generic error message that opens to suggest a crash in the install process.

I have turned off every firewall, pop up blocker and safety feature on my macbook and the software will still not install. I have uninstalled all prior versions. I have tried on two different private wi-fi connections. I have macOS Big Sur (11.6.1). It should be compatible according to website. Anyone experiencing similar issues?

Eactly the same problem on my Macbook Pro M1 2020 with my new purchase. Strangely, I was able to download and install without any problem the 2022 trial version. I tried to buy a license for that 2022 version, but ended into tha page for buying the 2023 version. I wonder if there is a way to get an activation number for the 2022 trial version which is working perfectly?

so today they tell me that the current version will not work with Big Sur even though their technical specs say it should. they offer me a refund and say that 2021 version will work. but i see no way to purchase the 2021 version. I am beyond frustrated

I feel like this is ploy to strongarm us into buying a subscription service instead
