I'm trying to install my Photoshop Elements 10 on my iMac 25, but I get a message, "install" needs to be updated. How do I go about doing this please?

IMO, you should be blaming Apple for making your software obsolete. The main issue is that Elements 10 was a 32-bit program and, as I understand it, Apple has not supported 32-bit programs since Catalina.  OTOH, Windows 11 still supports 32-bit programs and, in theory Elements 10 will still run on it. (I haven't upgraded my OS so can only confirm that Elements 10 runs on Windows 10).

Hopefully there will come a time when all will work together for the common good of the user. But, I doubt we will ever see that happening. You are correct, Elements 10 works well on Windows 10. The bottom line for me is that I prefer the Mac OS.

I have no idea what an iMac 25 is but I can tell you that if it is running a recent OS, Elements 10 will not run on it.  You will have to upgrade the software.

Shame, because I paid for it and they should allow me to use it if I have a license. Their way of cashing in by making their software obselete.

Adobe has not made the software obsolete. You can still use it on a compatible computer with a compatible operating system.

Unfortunately your iMac - and its operating system - is incompatible with your version of Elements due to changes made by Apple.

Time to upgrade to the current version of Photoshop Elements 2023 which is compatible with your iMac.
