Trying to reinstall Photoshop Elements 13 - it takes me on an endless sign in cycle.

Hi,

Hope you're well. I'm having issues trying to reinstall my copy of Photoshop Elements that I purchased a few years back. I've just done a harddrive cleanup and full Windows reinstall, and I'm trying to get my software running again.

I've tried to install it a bunch of times, but each time I do it says I need to sign in to my Adobe account, and when I do it takes me to the terms agreement which I accept, and then it closes completely - when I open it again, it does the same thing, leaving me on and endless loop of succesfully signing in and then the software not working. I tried both "I have purchased" entering my serial number, and "I want to try", both with the same result.

This morning I decided to give the offline activation a bash, which seemed to be going a lot better than the normal account sign in method - I can actually get the software open. But once I try do the actual offline activation, I enter in the request code and my serial, it says activation limit reached - which can't be right, as I specifically made a point of following online instructions and deactivating on my previous PC setup before I formatted and reinstalled.

Is there a way to remove previous activations from my account so I can get the software running again? They would've been on this same PC, pre cleanups and reinstalls, so unfortunately I'm unable to go into the software and deactivate from within. Or even better, just to get the normal installation and activation process to work?

Many thanks!

@jim_5582, try completely disconnecting your computer from the internet and activate the program offline, using the instructions found here.

Thanks, @Greg_S. I appreciate the direction! - I still haven't managed to update, but with these instructions I can at least use the software. Seems to be working fine, now.

I am experiencing the same issue (an endless cycle requesting me to sign in and accept the terms), but Adobe isn't connecting the dots. The software is registered (I can see it in my account) and I haven't hit the activation limit. Is there any fix to this situation?

activation limit reached - that's a showstopper.   Regardless of the reason or method, there is nothing Adobe can, or will, do about it.  They changed their policy last June about such resetting activations.  You are basically S.O.L.

"Is there a way to remove previous activations from my account "- no there is not.

BOTTOM LINE:  Your are pretty much done using PSE 13

Ah, what a bummer... I was fond of the old girl, did exactly what I needed. Thanks for taking the time to reply, appreciate it!
