Trying to transfer photos from Apple Photos to PSE 2020

I am new at using Photoshop Elements 2020 on my Macbook Pro with Catalina 10.15.6. I have a lot of pictures, in Albums, in Apple "Photo" (I hate that name). How do I get my Apple Photo pictures into PSE 2020 Organizer? Or do I want to? Do most people only move into PSE pictures that need to worked on? Or should I transfer all my pictures to PSE Organizer and quit using Apple Photos?

I think this has been covered many times before, so if there is a link you can point me to, that would be great. As it is, I am overwhelmed with the search results that don't seem to answer my question.
