Trying to use magic wand

Question

I have Photoshop Elements 2022 and when I go to YouTube tutorials the Photoshop screen looks way different than mine. I'm guessing that on YouTube they are using a different version or something.

When I try to use the magic wand, the tutorial says to go to Properties in the Window tab, but Properties is nowhere to be found. Where is properties tab in photoshop elements 2022

My goal is to take out a subject from the picture and copy/paste it on my Word doc file to create a poster.

I am using Windows 11.

Can someone please help me with this?

Those tutorials are for Photoshop, not Photoshop Elements.They are two different programs. See here for Photoshop Elements:https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/using/making-selections.html
