Unable to import from SD card

You haven't answered all of my questions so I can only make a guess as to what might be happening. 

Based on the limited information you have given, all I can tell you is that it is necessary to insert the memory card into the (laptop?) card reader and make sure that the card is recognized as a drive in Windows File Explorer.  After that, start the Organizer and begin the Import>From Camera or Card Reader option. 

If that doesn't solve the problem please answer all of my questions.

Have you tried a different USB cable and/or USB port?

* Yes

Does it happen with all memory cards?

* Yes

What make/model is the device you are shooting photos on, and are you recording any raw or heic files?

* Without the SD card inserted into the computer, the import window appears. I then insert the card and the import window then just vanishes.

Are you using a card reader or connecting directly from camera or phone?

Are you getting any error messages?  Please provide details or a screenshot.
