Unable to start Adobe Photoshop Elements 2024 - Error 11

Tried to install Adobe Photoshop Elements 2024 on the Windows 11 23H2 system without any previous photoshop product installed on it.

When installer finishes I get error: Unable to launch the product automatically. Please quit & re-launch manually (Error Code: 111)

When I enter the installation directory and try to start the PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe I get another error: Configuration Error (Error Code: 11) (see attached screenshot)

I tried to

  • re-install the application
  • re-install with cleaning the system with Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool
  • changed installation directory directly to C:\Adobe
  • explicitly grant administrator permissions to the installer
  • run photoshop manually as administrator
  • tried to install on another computer - getting the same error

Installer was downloaded directly from my adobe account.

Any ideas what could be wrong?

This is usually caused by missing or corrupted Visual C++ Redistributable packages.

Fix:

  1. Uninstall all Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable entries from Windows Settings → Apps
  2. Reinstall the latest 2015–2022 version (both x64 and x86) from Microsoft's official site
  3. Restart and reinstall Photoshop Elements as Administrator

Since it failed on two computers, also try re-downloading the installer fresh from your Adobe account.

Is it still working a year later? I’ve had to uninstall and reinstall Adobe over the months at least 3 times...For me, it’s not resolved as every 2 months(?, I keep getting Error 11 and have to uninstall and reinstall.

"Unable to start Adobe Photoshop Elements 2024 - Error 11"

Well I have the same problem, but in my case it happens on the iMac with OS Sonoma 14.7.

It worked a few times after installation in september, but after starting the app yesterday the application crashed with this error. I uninstalled the application with the Adobe uninstaller and downloaded again from the Adobe webside but after installation the same errr occured. Is there a solution for this problem?

Hi John,

did you solved the problem at the end? if yes, how you solved it?

I'm experienced the same issue on my Mac with OS Sequoia 15.2.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi,

The problem is solved, and my guess is that the solution was an update in Mac OS, but in my case it is Sequoia 15.1.1. Or perhaps the combination of the update of Mac OS and the uninstall of Elements and a clean installation of Elements. Strangely enough I had the same problem with Premiere Elements and this is also solved.
But was it the update of Mac OS or was it the unstall and new clean installation? I really can't say.

If you look in the C:\Program Files\Adobe folder, do you see any folders for Elements 2025? Did you purchase the product directly from Adobe or from a third party?  A number of users are reporting an Error 111 problem and I am trying to figure out whether this is a scammer issue or whether Adobe has seriously messed up the download links.
