Hi

I have Photoshop Elements 15 on Windows 10 with a NAS drive that holds /Photo folder under /Photo are subfolders for each event e.g. a holiday or wedding. The photo folder now has over 38k files in addition to the subfolders. These appear to be 2 types of file B???????.jpg which appear to be copies of my photos from the sub-folders and also files named B???????.json.

What are all these files, do I need them and can they be moved to a subfolder?

Thanks

Chris

    Hi Chris,

These files are created while taking a backup of the catalog in Organizer. You probably might have forgotten to make a subfolder under Photo folder while taking a backup from Organizer and specified this very folder at destination, which is why you see these files.

You can get rid of these files in case you don't need the backup as of now and take a new backup from staret at some other location.

In case you need this backup, then moving these files would not be a good idea since you might face issue while restoring the catalog from this backup.

    Thanks
