Hi all - I purchased Photoshop Elements a 2-3 years back and was wondering how I update it to a newer version.

The update menu item in the software itself is greyed out.

Does it require a full price upgrade, or is it discounted, or free?

Best,

Rob

If you purchase directly from Adobe they will offer you a discount as a repeat customer. Be aware that you may be able to purchase the current version at a lower price at Amazon or from one of the big box stores. Shop around! Also suggest that you avail yourself of the free, 30-day trial in order to test drive.

Heya Rob, users of say PSE 10 might have seen a version 10.1 update issued by Adobe for free.  Then possibly another free update named 10.2 became available at some point I don't recall the precise history.  But once PSE 11 was released, all free version 10 updates ended.  The new release (PSE 11 in this example) then became available as a full installer, at full price, or at a 20% off upgrade price to owners of previous versions and it still works this way.

The regular price of Photoshop Elements 2020 is currently $99.99.  After your discount, the upgrade price (because you own a previous version) would normally be $79.99 but the full installer is on sale right now for $74.99.
