Upgrade catalog from Elements 8 to Elements 2023

I have been using Elements 8 for many years and am now running it on Windows 10. As Elements 2023 now has support for importing HEIC files from iPhone I am thinking of migrating to 2023. Is it possible to achieve this by : 

Backup Elements 8 Catalog

Uninstall Elements 8

Install Elements 2023

Restore Elements 8 Catalog into Elements 2023    ?

I was wondering if there would be any catalog structure differences that might complicate things ?. 

Any advice on this would be much appreciated.

    You may need to use a conversion utility to convert the Elements 8 catalog to Elements 2023, but as I understand a recent user, the conversion may take place automatically. See this recent discussion for more details.
