Upgrade existing PSE catalog or create new LR catalog?

I have purchased LR6, with the intent of trying it.  All my work to date (16k photos) is tagged, keyworded and captioned with the PSE 13 Organizer.

After installing LR and opening it, it asks if I want to upgrade my existing PSE catalog, or create a new LR catalog?  My question is:

If I select "Upgrade" will that trash my PSE work?  I want to keep the option of staying with the PSE Organizer.

If I create a new LR catalog, I assume I can import my photos into it and then have TWO catalogs, one PSE and one LR, and switch between

the two programs.  Is that correct?  Thanks

    Yes you want to upgrade your existing PSE13 catalog. Lightroom will then import as much of the compatible information as possible.

    Your PSE13 catalog will remain untouched.
