Upgrading 2019 elements versus buy latest version

Is there any advantage -- in price or effort -- to upgrading elements 2023 or just purchase download of new program?

    Advantage:  There is usually a 10% price discount for existing users of Elements.  Extra effort:  if Elements 2019 is not installed on the computer that you are installing the new program on, you may need to enter the old serial number to show that you qualify for the discount. 

     

    Note that each version of the program is entirely separate.  So, you are not really upgrading the old version.

     

    If you use the Organizer, you will be prompted to convert your existing catalog to the newer version.  It is best to say yes.  Users sometimes miss the prompt and wonder where their catalog is.  The old catalog will be copied and saved and can still be used with the older version.

      You may want to wait and see what new features (if any) that 2024 might have.

      Historically, it has been released in September or October.
