Upgrading from Elements 10

I have an old version of Elements 10 that I have tried to install on my Windows 11 PC but it just won't work so I am considering getting the latest version, 2024.

Can I buy the upgrade without having the older version installed or do I have to have the older version installed on my laptop to accept the new one? Elements 10 is registered on my Adobe account.

If the old version is not installed, you will be prompted to enter the serial number for the old version if you purchased at the upgrade pricing, so be prepared for that.

Each version of the software is independent. You can leave PSEv.10 installed. The new version will not overwrite the older version. After installation & registration, both versions should show up in the Adobe account.
