Using Elements 15 to open a photo file...

Opening a photo from within Elements 15 works fine. However, if I select a pic in My Pictures and try to open it (Elements 15 is the default application) Elements 15 opens but there's no pic, and I have to search from within Elements 15.  Any help?

Thanks for the help.  I reinstalled the program, and checked my default programs selected to open specific files.  This time there was a Photoshop Elements 15 Editor, in addition to just Photoshop Elements 15 that I'd selected before.   Making that change solved my problem.

Are you choosing the application or a shortcut.

Normally you right-click on an image and choose Open With >> PhotoshopElementsEditor

Thanks.  Still the same problem.  Right clicking, or double clicking an image file brings  up the editor, but there's no image in the workspace to work on.  Within the editor, I click "Open" and the last folder I worked from appears, but not the file I wanted to start with.  I just replaced Elements 11 with 15 (I've had several versions over the years) and this has never been the case.  I think I'll uninstall and reinstall to see if that helps.

Try re-setting the saved prefs. Go to:

    Edit > Preferences >> General

Click the button to re-set the preferences on next launch.

    Then quit and re-open.
