using mac elements 11, to edit window Word, page inserted photos

Using any windows 'Word' I  can construct a photo , copy it and insert in a word document along with all the layers .  When I want to change or alter the photo I just click on the photo and it opens in elements ready for editing, and when I close elements it paste in back into word

In mac word 2016 when I click on a previously entered windows inserted photo, it  still come up with the instruction "double click to edit in adobe element' .However  nothing happens

Is this a left over from when constructed n window ,or is there a way to edit the same way in mac word that I'm missing?
