Using Multiple Songs In Slide Show

In an older version of adope photoshop elements I was able to choose different songs (or part of songs) for different parts of a photo slide show.  I could exactly decide where to transition to another song and how much of the song to play.  I have Photoshop Elements 14 on current computer and I can't figure out how to do this.  Only option seems to be to pick 1 song and have it loop.  NO NO NO.  Can someone help me?

I don't remember having the ability to select different music for different parts of Elements slideshows in older versions. Do you mean you were working in Premiere Elements?

    Premiere Elements

In Elements, it was advised to use external audio editors to create an audio composite.

The slidehow in Elements since version 13 is very basic and automatic. You no longer get the choice for transitions, pans/zoom and such. on the good side, you output good quality mp4 files and it works on Macs. For more advanced tools, using Premiere Elements is the Adobe solution.

I just fired up my ancient computer and it was Adobe PhotoShop Elements 10 that I could do all the transitions/choice of music/etc.  So if I want to be able to have those functions, do I have to go back to an older version of Elements or purchase Premiere?

As I said, I don't remember being able to stitch various songs in older Elements versions. I can't check because I am away from home with only PSE15. I am quite sure I did use other audio utilities to do that in PSE6 and PSE10 on my home computer. The change in the slideshow module came with PSE13. If you are happy with what your older version produced, yes, keep the older version together with the new one. Most users now want absolutely high definition video but if you are happy with the low res, but advanced slideshows you were used to create, absolutely keep the older version.

I don't use Premiere Elements myself, but I am sure you can do everything you want... with a learning curve. That's why I recommend posting in the Premiere Elements forum to get expert help.
