using Photo/Premier elements within different versions

Hello everybody,

Could anybody please advise me as to whether you could edit images in Photoshop elements 2018 version and if they are to be added alongside video files for inclusion in a slideshow etc.. then opened in premier elements 15?

the reason I ask is I currently have photo Elements/Premier elements 15 I would like to upgrade to the 2018 edition(Photoshop elements 2018 only) but I only use Premier Elements occasionally and cannot really justify upgrading both.

I apologise for asking a newbie question ,and hope it makes sense.

Any help and advice would be most welcome.

You can use different versions, but you will have to add the files manually.
