Using the Lasso too in elements 19

When using the Lasso tool in PS elements 19

I too often proceed to the next area
only to find after applying the Lasso tool to that area  I did not press Esc so
I have to do the second area again.

Is there any way around this please?

Many Thanks

    Correct answer Greg_S.

If I understand you correctly, in the tool options bin, make sure that you have the Add option selected.  (I'm not sure why you are hitting the Esc key - that removes the current selection.)

Thank you so much Greg, that was just what I needed.

I used Esc to remove the first selection because if I left it there the second selection failed. still learning!

    Cheers

I select the Poyygonal Lasso Tool and create a cut out section.

I can then attempt to create another cut out selection which on completetion fails, because the first selection was not cleared with Esc.

So I have to clear the first selection before I can successfully complete the second selection.

I hope I have made this clear?

    Not quite understanding your issue.

I wondered if anyone has any advise on this question, I seem to recall Fireworks cancelled the marching ants when a new lasso tool was selected.

    Thanks

    Thank you Ann Bens,

I did not realise I had posted to an incorrect area.
