Version 12 Clone Stamp behaviour

Am using a  large screen Mac with system 10.9.5

Am trying to use clone stamp to delete an area in a photograph with a cut from another area. The area to be covered is black and I wish to use a site covered with concrete paving as the light cover. Dragging the brush over the dark area produces a  change in color of the concrete sample. It does not give 100% cover and becomes a light blue shade.  I am using the 100% setting.

Also, the photograph is very unstable. During the operation it shrank in size and the whole frame also moved laterally. The cursor is also difficult to control.

I used the base settings of the application for clone stamp application.

I have Elements 4 on a old Mac which has none of these problems.

Suggest that you alter your work-flow.

Use the lasso tool or the selection brush to select an area of the concrete paving. Then, place this selection on its own layer (CTRL+J).

Now, you have a "patch" to cover the black area. Activate the move tool to position it. If you have to tidy up, use the eraser tool on the patch.
