watched folders

I recently upgraded to PE 15 and use it on my Mac book pro.  When I download photos to iPhoto all is ok.  Then when I open PE 15 a watched folder pops up which asks if I want to import the folder (this folder is the one I just downloaded to iPhoto).

The photos on the screen show:  the original photo and also 2--subfolders of the original folder--however the subfolders are identical to the original.  The subfolder shows up with a +7a5. and +7a6.  Why the duplication of photos?

Watch folders dialog pops up whenever new media files are added (which are not yet present in your catalog) to any of your watched folders.

By saying "duplication of photos", do you mean that these files are already present in your catalog?

The files which you have downloaded form iPhoto, if not yet imported into Elements Organizer > then those files would appear in watched folders dialog and you can import those files into your catalog.

To know more about watch folders, please see Local files, CDs, DVDs, and video

Thanks,

The duplication of photos are new ones and have not been previously downloaded into PE 15.  I downloaded the photos from my sd card into iPhotos.  Then I open PE15 to import them into my organizer.  When I open PE15, my watched folders dialog pops up.  I understand that.   However in the watched folders  my original photo that I will be importing into PE15 shows up--but below the original photo is a subfolder that has 2 duplicates of my original.  The subfolder is usually titled as 7a or7b.  Why do these show up in the first place?  What's the purpose of the subfolder duplicate photo? To go around this, I uncheck the subfolder duplicates and then import the photo. This seems like an additional step that doesn't need to be there.  The watch folder info. you sent was helpful but doesn't answer the question.  Hope you can clarify.
