What happened to the written words???

A few weeks ago, my computer insisted on doing lengthy upgrades to microsoft 10.  I have Photoshop Elements 7 and no longer have one written word anywhere.  When I open it to organise, I have no writing either by me on photo descriptions or anywhere across the board where there should be headings etc. Nothing!  How do I fix this!  It is beyond frustrating and I have been with photoshop for a long time but every few years I get massive problems and this could be the final straw though I do have around 24000 photos and have no idea how I can get them with all the descriptions into a new system.

Anyone else have this problem?
