Why do my photos disappear when I crop them?

I am using Photoshop Elements 15.   When I crop a photo, I lose it and can not find it.  Where is it?

    Hi Linda,

    If you are on MAC then do the following:

    Quit PSE, then go to your username>library>preferences folder and delete:

    com.adobe.Photoshop.Elements.plist

    Adobe PSE 6.0 settings

    Adobe PSE 6.0 paths

    Opera preferences

    Repair permissions and try again.
