Why is PE 26 so much slower than PE 25?

Thanks for the suggestion, but it didn't make much difference.  BTW, I have the same issue with cropping.  Takes forever (like 10 seconds or more) anytime I crop a photo and I can't do anything else while it is processing.

OS 15.7.2.  I resize the object by clicking on a corner and dragging-- assuming I can see the corner.  Half the time the handles are not visible and I have to hoover my cursor over the area where the corner should be until to changes to the resize arrow.  It can take 10 to 15 seconds before I can do anything else.  I can move my cursor but I can't click on anything until the object appears in the new size and location.
