Windows did an upate on August 13, 2020 and now when I open Elelments 2018 instead of seeing a full size image, I see a postage stamp size in the upper left.  If I click it to full size the postage size image,  it covers all of Elements and I do not have access to editing tools.  Checked and there are no updates on Elements 2018.  What is the fix????

For me on windows 10 x64 2004 pse 2020 and 2019 work fine in regards to opening images fitted on screen when floating document windows are enabled.

Pse 2018 on the other hand opens the small window in the upper left top like with the op.

Once the image opens you can then press Ctrl+0 to fit the image to screen.

If you open more than one image you can go to Layout>All Floating or Window>Images>Tile

You are right Jeff, I am now on my main computer with older PSE versions and indeed, PSE2018 still shows the issue. Thanks for the detailed screenshots.

I checked my log book and the I had a Windows 10 update (KB 4565351) on August 12, 2020 and another one (KB4569751) as well.

Adobe rarely provides updates. The issue would appear to causally related to the Microsoft intervention. I assume that other programs present ok.

I don't have PSEv.18. Activate the Zoom tool in Editor, and see if you can access "Fit Screen" on the tool's option bar. Also, go to Edit menu>preferences>general and check "Allow floating documents in full edit mode." If that does not fix it, reset preferences on next launch in the same dialog.

If all these maneuvers fail, suggest that you call Microsoft support for additional guidance.

Please give us a follow-up.

It's a bug in photoshop elements that was fixed in photoshop elements 2019.

It's a bug in photoshop elements that was fixed in photoshop elements 2019.

I thought the bug was in PSE14, perhaps PSE15 and it was solved for me anyway in PSE2018 (version 16).

So I was wondering if the issue was reappearing in the latest versions after the latest Windows 10 (2004) August update.

It seems that that 2004 update creates a number of problems, and I don't want to install it before more experience by PSE users.

The present discussion also shows that the marketing decision to name PSE as PSE2020 for a version 18.1 makes things all the more confusing.
