If so, what are the quirks? If not, how may I upgrade?

Yes, Elements 9 should install OK in Windows 11, but you should install it in Windows Compatibility Mode. (I have Elements 4 running on my Win 11 machine.)

But there have been so many added features and improvements in the program that you should really consider upgrading to the latest version. As already noted, the latest version (Elements 2025) is a 3 year term license. Elements 9 is about 15 years old. So, if it is really important for you to purchase a perpetual license, you may want to try to find a copy of Elements 2024 at a local retailer or on eBay. But you may have difficulty finding it. And you should be very careful if you are buying on eBay or similar online services as there are many scammers out there.

I tried installing Photoshop elements 9 on my new windows 11 computer. The installation appeared to work but when I rebooted the computer it wouldn't load. Had to pay someone to wipe the computer and reinstall Windows. I think you could probably transfer elements 9 from a Windows 10 computer with a transfer program but I would not recommend trying a new installation

Thanks MartDC. I ended up getting a 3 year subscriptions for Adobe Photoshop Elements 2025. It is not as robust as I would like yet it works. I did not want to try installing Photoshop elements 9 with windows 11.

I am but like other said not worth it unless you got time to figure out why it ain't working.

Like I just tried using it in Win11 and kept crashing with strange sccore.dll error. I got multiple GPU so saw on forum disabling integrated might help didn't still crashed! Seems problem was running multiple monitors. For some reason it doesn't like my 4K display, icons don't look righ anyways since program was made before high DPI was a thing, anyways setting one of my 1080p displays to primary let it work again without crashing LOL.

It may, but you are betting on software that is more than a decade old running on a modern PC. If you want to upgrade, you should be eligible for an upgrade discount which is usually $20 off the retail price.
