Windows 10 update broke old version of PSE

The latest Win 10 update (big one on July 3) broke my copy of PSE 7 (I know, ancient. I have PSE 14 but don't like it.). I uninstalled, reinstalled, and set it to run in Vista and then Win7 compatibility mode. No go - just a black window with random markings in it. (The compatibility checker recommended Vista.)

Any thoughts?
