Question

Adobe Auto Creations 2020 + PRE 2020 take 100 % of my CPU capacity during playing a clip

During playing an edited videoclip in Premiere elements 2020 I see that the clip does not always  play smoothly.

As soon as the clip start stto stuttert then I have a look in the Taskmanager of Windows 10 (64 bits) and observe the CPU performance  and Processes table. Firstly I see no problem in the performance graph of the cpu ( i7-3770K @ 3,5 GHz)  when it is running at about 60-70% capacity (mainly due to PRE 2020 but a bit later it is 100% and see that the Adobe Autocreations 2020 proces  takes the rest of the capacity. If the clip has ended with playing then it takes about 10-30% before the Autocreations stops asking such an enormous amount of capacity.

Is the Adobe Autocreations 2020 necessary at any time?

When I press the Render button, nothing happen. There was nothing to render at that moment.

What can I do to avoid that the videoclip is not playing smoothly.

As suggested in the other Autocreation post, Autocreations is required for many smart features like smart tagging, auto curate and auto creations. Autocreation is idle while you are working with the app and it will not impact the performance while you are rendering or during playback.

Thanks.

Autocreations indeed stopped (Task Manager) after the app was started-up.

Auto Creations isn't needed for anything.  It is part of Organizer.  Turn it off!   You can read a discussion about it here:  https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-elements-discussions/how-to-stop-elements-auto-creations-2019-exe/m-p/10110827#M36252

If that doesn't work, try making changes in Preferences on the General Page:

Thank you for your quick reply,

I started to write this topic after I had read these discussions  (your link pointed to that too).

There are discussed some work arounds, but I could not decide which solution is the best solution for my situation.

I will give it a try again to understand what is happening there.

In your General setting window I see the same settings exept that I have no GPU detection.

I am using a rather simple graphics card AMD Radeon HD5700 serie. Maybe that can cause a non smooth playing of a clip as well.

My suggestion was not to match my settings but to experiment by changing whatever settings you have.  As a user, it has been confusing about what those settings do.  In some topics on this forum, the settings that should be "slower" result in better performance.
