Adobe Premiere Elements 2022 under W11 - Totally unstable

I used to have an unstable PE 2022 in Windows 11 environment. It works fine now.

Go to Edit --> Preferences --> General and uncheck 'Use Hardware Acceleration'.

I had to reinstall PE 15 and PE 2022 in Windows 11 environment on my new desktop. I managed to do it and make it work. I have frozen screens during editing and from time to time PE stops responding and I have to either close the application or restart  the Windows. It is very frustrating. I did not try and do not know if the latest release - PE 2024 is stable in Windows 11. So as of now I have a delema: to either upgrade to PE 2024 or find another editing software preferably with Blu-Ray/ISO capability. Any suggestions?

I, too, am frustrated. I've been using 2023 Premium Elements daily (I have a YouTube channel and drop videos weekly) without issue since about January, but about 4 weeks Elements wouldn't open. It would hang when loading QuickTime. My work order ticket was escalated 3 times with technicians remoting into my PC over a 2 1/2 week period. I finally restored my pc and Elements worked and I produced 3 more videos for YouTube, then yesterday, it crashed during the same launch (QuickTime) step. I uninstalled/reinstalled Elements but that didn't work. I set my pc back to factory and Elements works again...or at least for now. I'm going to start a new discussion with my issue with your same title so maybe I can follow both threads. Something is definitely happening between Windows 11 and Adobe Elements. 

After many new rendering attempts, here are my conclusions. I specify beforehand that all my drives are up to date, and the programm is "Premiere Element" (not Pro)

1) Different FPS rushes in my projects

I use several different cameras. A Panasonic HC X1500, A GoPro 9, and that of my drone. All film in 4K.

The Panasonic is always in 50fps, for the other 2, depending on the needs of the shots, they are sometimes in 25fps, sometimes in 50fps. Adobe Premiere Element absolutely does not support this and crashes all the time. After a week of attempts I never managed to create a film (rendering). And each time, with the same assembly, the problems are different. Crash machine, freezing, error message without any number or explanation, etc.

2) All in 25fps - 4K
I turned all rushes from 50fps to 25fps, then started rendering. The first try crashed. I relaunched it and finally I got a first movie (30 min / 13Gb)

3) All in 50fps - 4K
I started from my initial rushes (the majority of which are in 50fps) and I transformed (with Uniconverter) the few 25fps rushes into 50 fps. I'll spare you the details, but the crashes are as numerous and diverse as in point 1. Impossible to output a movie with Adobe Premiere Element

4) I downloaded Davinci and trained myself in the basics of this program
As the import of the project from Adobe Première (to Davinci) is not possible, I restarted all the editing (without going into too much detail. The test was only done with all the rushes in 50fps (I will do another test soon mixing 25 and 50fps). The editing is quite simple because contains only rushes, simple transitions (fades), titles and music. First observation, throughout the editing, the work ALWAYS remained super fluid (which is not the case with Adobe where the viewing is very jerky). Second observation, in 50fps everything went beautifully, the rendering also and the film is great without any crashes.

Conclusions
I regret my Adobe purchase (and its price) and will only use Davinci for my editing. It takes a little longer to learn but it's very easy. It is by no means necessary to use all its possibilities (but I am sure that with a little time I will evolve in my knowledge of this product) and only do basic editing, as with Adobe (as a reminder, Davinci is free). In short, I definitively abandon Adobe which is totally unstable and full of bugs

Do not count on Windows to be fully up to date when it comes to device drivers
Go to the vendor site to be sure you have an updated driver for your graphic adapter

-for Premiere Pro (and MAYBE Premiere Elements) use the STUDIO driver, not the GAMING driver
If you have a laptop you MAY also need to check for a laptop specific nVidia driver

The only 4k I have edited were some samples from https://4ksamples.tumblr.com/ and I had zero problems

Is this Premiere Pro or Elements?

It's not a conflict between  the program and Windows 11. Many of us are using them with no problem.

You say you're editing 4K video. What are the full specs of that video? Premiere Elements can struggle with 4K video using other than a 30 fps frame rate.

Certainly, if you've found a program that works for you, the easiest solution is to use that program. But it certainly is also possible to use this program on Windows 11 too.
