premier elements 2020 crash

Also, with 2 different generation nvidia cards, which one are you using for Premiere Elements?

Go to the vendor site to be sure you have an updated driver for your graphic adapter

••for Premiere Pro and MAYBE Premiere Elements use the STUDIO driver, not the GAMING driver

There are also intermittent reports that the newest driver is not always the best driver due to driver bugs or compatibility issues, so you MAY need to try an earlier driver version

This looks like graphics driver issue. Hardware drivers have the capability to crash the OS.

Please try after updating the graphics driver on your machine.

Another thing you can do is to try disabling "Use hardware Acceleration..." in Preferences > General.

However, it is not likely to crash the system.

In the last post like this that I remember, the solution was finding a corrupted clip file in the middle of the project.   Another time, there was a RAM card failing.   

Has it worked before?  Can you start and complete a project with only a few short test clips?  What is the source of the video files?
