Question

What a con!

Well, like an idiot, I bought both Adobe Premeire and Photoshop Elements. I've now tried 3 graphics cards that are listed in their 'supported hadware' list, all NVIDEA devices and none show up as valid graphics cards in the settings on Peremiere. They show as being valid for Photoshop. So now having spent many hundreds of pounds on both hardware and software, what am I supposed to do. Keep buying graphics cards until one works? The support for Adobe (unless you are stupid enough to subscribe to their over priced subscriptions) is the worse I've ever experienced! Not one way to contact them directly.

I can't even find out where to get a refund and return the software. My colleague uses open source vidieo editing software and has no issues at all. Like an idiot, I fell for the marketing hype from Adobe - just wish they put a little of their advertising budget into support.

I don't want a lot, just to know what hardware will work with this software. I don't want a subscrition for software I might use once or twice a month. Please, just provide some support! Why provide a list of supported hardware, if it's not true?

If anyone has managed to get GPU hardware working for Premieire Elements, I would be extremely grateful to know which graphics card actually works - if any.

Many thanks guys, from a poorer and disappointed customer...

Paul,

You are not an idiot.  The Adobe Elements work well for lot of people that like it.   Both are good at making some complex processes easier than their competitors.   A friend is sharing the work for a project and is deep into the frustration of a leading complex, but free video editor.

Sorry for your disappointment and frustration.  For what it is worth, the GPU helps some, but does not make a revolutionary change in overall performance unless you are making very long or complex videos.   Instead of trying to make the GPU work, tryout the workflow for making a video.   It will work regardless of your GPU.

Direct contact with Adobe works best through their online chat system.  If you bought from Adobe directly, you have 30 days for a refund.

Yes.  Some GPUs do work.  The GPU in my Lenevo laptop is a NVIDIA "GTX 1660 Ti".  It works.

I'm not sure why some people begin asking for help by calling the software a piece of crap. Clearly we users have a certain amount of personal investment in it. I've been using it successfully for neary 20 years. We may not have a financial stake in the product, but it still stings when you spent a large portion of your day helping people through issues and someone just flips you off.

That said, it works great with my nVidia/GeForce card using driver version 471.96. So it will work with your card. I'm not sure why you're having problems.

Have you contacted Adobe's Customer Care via chat yet? They may be able to help you -- or at the very least arrange a refund for the software.

I assure you no one is trying to con you.

Only 10 years for me.  You and Bill Hunt were my teachers!  Thank you very much!

nvidia has a LONG history of breaking things with newer drivers, going all the way back to 2002 and my first editing computer

Roll back a few drivers.

Try the 462.59 driver straight from Nvidia and do a clean install.

If you want a refund, contact Support.
