1080p 30fps vs 720p 60fps

I'm planning to shoot some b-roll clips and I can not decide which resolution to pick for my slow motion b-roll clip. 1080p 30fps, slow it down then use optical flow, or go with 720p 60fps and just change the frame rate. The main video is going to be a hyper lapse from images I've taken.

What are the pixel dimensions of the sequence you are going to edit?

If you are editing an HD sequence @ 1920x1080 then you would not want to file at 720p as you will need to enlarge the video to fill the frame of your sequence.

Yes, I'm planning to do a 1920x1080 sequence, thanks for your help! I was just on the edge of deciding whether picture quality matter more or the actual slow motion.

Test it.

Shoot test material at both frame sizes and rates, then bring them into a 1080 sequence, enlarging the 720p material and make the call.

If you do slow motion with the 30fps material, use optical flow to help the smoothness of resulting motion.
