10bit Expectations - How does it change your vision?

I am back in 10bit sRGB world after being in consumer RGB for 3 years. I had an NEC Pa27 1st gen that was 10 bit and 110% Adobe RGB. but i have been working 8bit for a long time. I normally would only run in sRGB and every now and then Adobe RGB

1. If i see a video that i have watched 20x on my old monitor and on my new monitor I suddenly see much more banding, is that expected for a 10bit monitor?

2. If suddenly i feel like in pre-calibrated (BenQ) sRGB mode, makes my footage have less contrast after the grade, is that expected?

3. If my 1080 wallpaper that was pitch black on my LG consumer screen is suddenly showing things in that black that i could not see before, is that expected?

I am not asking about the screen. I am asking about expected changes and i have not seen a thread on that in particular. I do not remember my PA27 doing this quite as much. It has a slight red overcast in some mode but i did not feel that i lost this much contest.

I have not calibrated it. However, there are many, many post and articles that mention how well BenQ is pre-calibrated. I did put a spider on it but it only made very slight adjustments. So it appeared to be like 95% correct straight from the factory.

I am more wondering if an 8bit gradient would show more banding when viewed in 10bit. In my mediocre experience when i am in photoshop a 10BIT COMP has less banding in a gradient than an 8bit comp. So my theory is that, if i make a comp in 8bit i can see the banding in the comp. I export in 8bit and that makes the gradient set to 8bit.  Then if i view in 10bit, I think the banding in the gradient is more pronounced.

Not sure if that makes sense but that's what i am wondering.

First thing ... what calibration have you done past the factory presets?

If you bring up a bars/tone image on the screen in Pr, what's it look like?
