Steps to Reproduce Bug:

1. Set my music clip as audio track from Essential Sound panel.

2. Hit auto-match and then enable ducking on dialog clips.

3. Hit generate keyframes.

Results:

Premiere freezes forever. Only solution is to kill the app from the task manager.

Expected Results:

To work as intended.

Version: CC 12.1.0

    Hi Wolfkain,

Instead of selecting several music clips / cuts. Try ducking using single music clip / cut at a time. It was freezing for me in the beginning when i tried to use ducking on two music cuts in same track, now problem solved!!

I wish adobe to make Ducking work even when multiple music clips are selected.

    Thanks,

    Prince Priyadarshan

    Kevin,

we've all had issues with premiere one way or the other but this last version seems to beat all the previous ones... The audio issues makes this an untrustworthy program and not suitable for a professional environment! Still you makes all of us pay it monthly!!

When should we expect to see a new version with these audio issues fixed?

I'm getting the exact same thing on Mac (OS High Sierra) running PP 12.1.1.

PP Memory spikes to +3GB then I have to force quit in Activity Monitor.

    CURRENT WORKAROUND

    1. Cut the music track into smaller clips

    2. Select individual clips then 'Generate Keyframes' for each clip. Mac seems to be handling auto-generating keyframes on the smaller clips without crashing.

I know this defeats the purpose of a one-click auto-ducking feature but for now my mac is handling it plus still beats having to manually generate key frames for each dialogue clip!

    I guess it's a windows only bug then. I'm on Windows10 on PRPro 12.1.1.

I did a complete reset when installing premiere 12.1.0.

    New settings, new layouts.

Try to add Dynamics or EQ to your dialogs before audio-ducking. It will crash when you generate keyframes after that.

I just test the Audio auto ducking with EQ or Dynamics effect added to dialogs before audio-ducking and it worked perfectly fine. I am using mac os x 10.13.3, you're using mac or windows?

I have worked with Auto Ducking option using Essential Sound Panel before and I just tested it again in version 12.1.0 build 186..It worked perfectly fine...

Have you test it in another project or media clip in Premiere Pro.

Also,  try resetting preferences of Premiere Pro cc as follow -

    • Press Alt (Windows) or Option (Mac OS) while launching Premiere Pro. You can release the Alt key or Option key when the splash screen appears.
