Question

120 fps footage completely freezes when slowed down.

I'm having an issue very recently where some of my 120 fps clips will not playback once they are slowed down using the speed/duration control. I haven't had issues with this before as my computer is pretty well spec'd out for video editing. Also some clips seem to playback fine, and some dont play at all. The clips that dont playback when slowed down seem to play perfectly fine at their regular speed. They also play fine in other media players outside of Premiere Pro. I tried exporting the final video I was working on to see if the slowed down clips would be playing in the export. They were also frozen in the final export so this isn't just a preview playback issue. Also, this is just 8 bit footage in 1080p from a Sony A7III. So not the most taxing footage ever. I also updated my Nvidia drivers to the most recent ones which is when this issue seemed to begin. Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated!

What's your hardware in detail as that can be crucial. And what specific formats/codecs from that cam too.

Plus any effects typically used within Premiere.

Just because they're the latest drivers doesn't mean they are better. Try reverting to the previous drivers. As Nvidia has put out some real ditz drivers over the last year.

And actually much Sony especially from As7 is long-GOP which is a lot more difficult in playback on most hardware than 8k RED. Heavily dependent on your specific hardware bits, plus drivers.
