2023 Clip marker issues with "Go to next/previous marker", related to timecode? PP 23.6

Hi everyone,

I will greatly appreciate any help I can get on this issue. It's my first time editing with audio and video that I synced via timecode. Everything is properly synced but the issue I am having is with markers and I'm wondering if it's in some way related to some timecode settings?

I was originally working on PP version 23.1 (build 86) and having marker issues, but upgraded to 23.6 (build 65) as I read in another forum that this might correct it. https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-bugs/quot-go-to-next-previous-marker-quot-feature-not-working-with-clip-markers-in-the-timeline/idc-p/14135111/page/3#M15497

It fixed the problem for my timeline markers, so the playhead jumps to the start of the timeline markers now, but it didn't fix the problem for my clip markers - my timeline playhead doesn't move so I can't find my makers. One thing that I noticed is that my clip marker in and out points timecode do not correspond to my timeline timecode. I've attached an image of this. You can see in the image, the marker in and out points are 14:42:29:23 but on my timeline it's at 2:34:31:01 and when I open the marker it actually says the time is @00:17:06:15. So truthfully I have no real clue what is going on.

Potentially related - one of the other markers issues I am having is that the markers going on the video and the audio are improperly aligned too (timeline marker alignment issue discussion but I couldn't resolve it). The video marker would be placed several minutes ahead of the marker going onto the audio.

Under my Media preferences I have the following selected (attached image). Would it help to set this to Timecode start 00:00:00:00 ? I can't quite figure out if this will create later problem for me though when I have to send the project over to the sound editor who will relink some of the audio based on the timecode (as I only kept my main microphones on the timeline, deleting ambient and other sound tracks for editing ease).

Thanks in advance for your help and clarifications!!

For Time Code of a Clip Marker to match the Time Code of a Timeline, the two must have matching Time Code.

While we can set Timeline Start Time to match a Clip's Time Code start, this can only be maintianed if the nothing is extracted afterward.

As far a sycning Clips to the Timeline goes, matching time code should not be required.  Place the marker in the Timeline that the Clip needs to sync to and then place a marker in the Clip that needs to sync to that Timeline marker.  Use the 5th, 6th, 7th, or 8th Marker Color when setting these Markers so they visually represent needing to be aligned (or in sync).   If those slip out of alighment, Time Code isn't needed to restore it.  Just slide the Clip so that the Clip Marker aligns with the corresponding Timeline Marker.
