2023 Premiere Pro Super Slow

Question

Hi, I have been editing with PP for years and years and love it. I just updated to the latest version 24.0.3 and it is really slow compared to earlier versions. Just to copy and paste a clip is taking a full minute or more. And in gerenal there is a lag to all that I do on there. I've never had this issue before, just wondering what I can do to resolve this. No way to know what on your system is causing this. As at this time, some older hardware is struggling with the 24.x version because of being well ... older. But there are also some issues wth system settings, especially that I've seen reports of on Macs. Where changing some permissions and security settings in the OS suddenly gets Premiere flying. So ... system details, please ... OS/CPU/RAM/GPU/driver. Disks in use, for ... what? Media types and effects used. Then we can start the process of sorting it out.
