360/VR 180 AND PLUGIN Insta360Importer.prm FOR PREMIERE PRO CC 2020
I've literally been waiting for 1 year for a fix. This previous post from another user gets me nowhere. On my PC I've new Premiere Pro CC 2020 now loaded and latest plugin from Insta360 --released in 11/19 I think. Trying to load insv files into Premiere Pro upon import. This should be a normal process. Correction, this should be a fixed process. But alas, even on a clean machine PP CC 2020 crashes! Still!
with plug-in located in either:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2019\Plug-Ins\Common
or
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plugins\7.0\MediaCore
Splash screen echo = LOADING: Insta360Importer.prm
and crashes... When not in either PP loads but upon import there's: File format not supported.
Is it really that difficult? Is it politics? War between Insta and Adobe, insv vs mp4 (no wrapper)? With the customer paying the price. I've been cutting with PP for 15 years... But this... the lack of customer support over this is a new low. Believe me, I'd rather not edit 100 - 150 mbps mp4 in the timeline, but clients are clients and compression is compression. And though at this point I'd like to avoid both, I can't.
Avoiding any further compression, I've a card with .insv files I should be able to import directly with PP CC 2020. Is this possible? Has anyone actually done this in person or is this an urban legend?
