Question

4444xq export from Premiere Pro CC 2019 (Mac)

Hi

I can not export to ProRes 4444 XQ from Premiere/Media Encoder? I can only choose the option ProRes 4444 as the highest version of ProRes, and I really need the higher quality of XQ to get the best color spectrum for vfx and grade? The video I am working with is recorded in ProRes 4444 XQ.

According to the Adobe literature it appears that the XQ format is only supported on PC Windows for export. Adobe, can you please add to MAC? Thanks!

Here is the literature I am referring to.

Thats very interesting!!

Macs not supporting ProRes professional formats.

Windows supporting ProRes all the way.

The world is upside down.

Macs do support the XQ format. And Premiere on a Mac supports the XQ format for edit use. But you can't export to the XQ format out of Premiere or Media Encoder on a Mac. Still upside down though. Haha. You can export to XQ format out of Davinci on a MAC but I find the settings rather limiting data wise.

Did you ever figure this out? I am also having that issue and I don't want to have to go about re-installing premiere if possible.

What is the version of CC2019? It should be 13.1.5

I have the XQ option in both Premiere 2019 and 2020. I don't have the option in Media Encode in the initial drop down list.

But if I double click on the codec I then get the 'normal' options.

Strange... that doesnt seem to be the case for me.

Can I reinstall anything to make the ProRes4444 XQ get active?

(Already tried to uninstall and reinstall Premiere and MediaEncoder latest 2019 versions - same thing)

I have tried on two different systems. One iMac with latest Catalina, and one Macbook Pro with High Sierra....  same thing...

That option is down in the Video tab of the Export dialog ... no matter which ProRes preset you've chosen in the Preset option up at the top of the Export Dialog ... for the Preset, I'd just selected the ProRes 422HQ, could have selected any of them.

Then I went down to the Video Codec option box in the Video tab, and in the drop down list there, one can select any of the options which yes, do include ProRes 4444 XQ.

Thanks alot! But the option ProRes4444 QX is missing? I have uninstalled Premiere and Media Encoder 2019, and installed it all over again.... still missing that option? This is how it looks in my Video Codec option list?
