4k vertical video unable to save to iPhone

Hello all,

 

I am trying to export a 4k video from Premiere in H.264, Matching Source, and the only other changes made are enabling "Use Maximum Render Quality" and changing my Bitrate Settings to VBR, 2 pass wth a target bitrate of 80 and Max bitrate of 96. The problem comes when trying to save the video to my phone. I send the video to my dropbox in order to download it with no loss of quality, but every single time I try and save I get the notification that this video is unable to save to my iPhone.

 

How should I go about changing my export settings to be able to save to my phone without losing quality?

    Thanks for the note. Have you tried one of the presets, @John34495747l9tu? You may not get your desired bitrate, etc., but you can see if that might be the reason your H.265 files won't save to the device. It may have its own limitations as far as supported bit rate - that is unless it's worked in the past. Has it? Sorry for the hassle.

    The way I managed to solve this was instead of trying to export vertical footage in H.265 I switched to H.264.

     

    For some reason 4k H.265 will not work on iPhone when its a vertical video which is pretty weird. Not sure if this is still the case but I have not tried it since.

    HI @John34495747l9tu,

    Thanks for the message. You can't upload a video to DropBox, right? It may have to do with your settings. I read about another user having the same problem here. It's dated, but could hold the key for you. It appears that what worked was changing the bit rate. It looks like they also used 1 Pass VBR. Let us know if changing the settings works for you.

    One fix that I have found is exporting in H.265 instead of H.264 and that worked perfectly fine but it limits my bitrate to 40 on VBR 1 Pass. For some reason its happening to many people with H.264 where iPhone wont download it
