59.94 sequence - audio file too long mystery

I am currently working in a 59.94 fps sequence. I'm exporting audio to aaf to send to my audio guy. mixed audio comes back, I import the mixed file and place it in my sequence and it is 2 frames longer than the video. However - if I switch the sequence to 29.97 the audio file is exactly the same length as the video. The problem seems to be within premiere not with the file my audio guy sends. Seems to me premiere pro interprets audio differently than video wether you work in 29.97 or 59.94. Has anyone experienced the same problem and a solution? I'm on premiere 23.5.0 mac version. Audio file I'm working with is wav at 48khz/24bit.
