Question

708 captions not embedding in MXF OP1A files

We are broadcast house that has been able to do exports using the MXF OP1A codec in Premiere Pro/Media Encoder; and have had success seeing the 608 closed captions but not the 708 captions when using the embed in output file feature and copying the MXF to an XDCAM disc. The 708 captions appear on the Premiere timeline as well as preview window; just like the 608 cations will with reimporting the file back into Premiere; but the 708 captions will not show up on the XDCAM disc when trying to check captions, but 608 will. Any help would be very much appreciated.

    Taiwo,

Sorry for this anomaly. From what I've read, it's quite possible that you need to set the menus in the XDCAM deck correctly. I found a thread on another forum that may be of some use to you. Check it out here. Did that help you solve it?

    Thanks,
    Kevin

    Moving to Premiere Pro CC

Ok, you moved it... maybe you could provide a link to it?  Also, I don't think it's appropriate to move it to the Premiere Pro forum.  This is clearly a Media Encoder issue as everything shows up as correct in PP.

An avenue to consider re "muxing mode":

    Embedded CC

I did not find time to test this.
