9x16 Exports come out glitching, flashing - 16x9 exports fine

Hi,

I’m on Premiere 2025, I’ve had some serious issues trying to edit a vertical series that was shot in portrait orientation(so a RED 16.9, shot sideways). 

I ended up just having all of my merged clips rotated 90 degrees, but I’m having issues with my exports, which are all either failing in Media Encoder or coming out extremely glitchy. Quicktime’s export quickly and come out glitchy, H264s take the whole night (2 minute sequence by the way) and still come out with black frames. 

Both export and sequence settings are 9x16, my media cache is cleared, I’ve updated my driver, but because I’m on 2025 there seems to be no way to turn off GPU acceleration. Frame rate is 25FPS across the board. 

I’ve tried a few of my projects and all of their exports seem to be much better, so it’s not my GPU. 

I would also love some workflow tips on how to work with portrait orientation footage haha.
