Ability to programmatically import transcripts into Premiere text editing features

Hi all, Is there currently a way to programatically import our own transcripts (either as SRTs or JSON) into Premiere for use in the text editing feature? The Premiere transcription process is great, but we'd like to use our own transcription data. 

If not, will this be available on the roadmap anytime soon?

I believe that app.project.importFiles() supports .srt, but not .json, today.

Any changes/improvements will need to wait until PPro moves to UXP extensibility. No dates available.
