access metadata Scene numbers

1. I put Scene numbers to clips in Metadata. Can I access these numbers when I'm in edit mode; other than when I open up the panel up? ?
2. Will anything change the column order I've set up in Metadata, or should I be looking for a preset option?

See my above comment for how to save the column display and order in the Project panel so you can always return to it.

You can use the Metadata Panel to view any metadata for clips in your timeline. To display the Metadata Panel, go to Window > Metadata. Here's more info about working with this panel: Metadata in Premiere Pro.

Regarding double-clicking to play the timeline, that might be a feature in another application. In Premiere Pro, I recommend using J-K-L for easy playback.

Sorry, I meant Project Panel. When it's open; full screen, you can see all the Metadata columns.
 
I have moved them around so the ones I'm most interested in seeing are on the left, and; fyi, I worry that order might be forced back into default. Can Metadata columns be saved as presets?
 
Regarding Scene numbers. Right now, for me, Workflow is a work in progress so I suppose there is better way to organize clips but I've found assigning scene numbers to clips, ad especially sub-clips, I can organize them more easily easily, then Automate them to my sequence.
 
I guess what I'm asking is, can specific Metadata be accessible outside the Program Panel's open state; showing all the columns?
 
Maybe a drop down option can be programed to display a specific bit of metadata sown in the Project Panel?
 
Can I add another quick question, please? I've looked in the Play on Double-click option in General preferences: were I understand it should be, but I don't see it there, so I have to hit the space bar to start it playing. It used to work that way!

    Hi Mike,

    I'm not familiar with "edit mode" - can you tell me more about what you're trying to do and why you need to access scene numbers?

    The column order in the Project panel will change if you rearrange, add, or remove columns.

    To save the displayed fields in the Project or Metadata panel, click the panel context menu, choose Metadata Display, and select Save Settings.

    To save the order of the columns in the Project panel, go to Window > Workspaces > Save Changes to Workspace or Save as New Workspace.
